Now let us convert it to edit poly and then match it with the reference image in the top viewport. Now let apply turbosmooth and then check show cage option as shown below.

Now let us turn off the turbosmooth and show cage option and then add one more segment by selecting the edges or simply by using ‘RING’ option as shown below.

Do not completely depend on the references as they are not proper just use them to understand the physical structure and basic blockings. Now once again ring the toe from front and add one segment so that we can make it hexagonal in shape as shown below.

Now let us start to define the nail area. Select polygon faces and extrude them towards inside and then scale them down a bit and then push a little back as shown below.
