可以从 IBM Systems Director 插件网站下载 Service and Support Manager 的可执行安装程序。完成下载之后，执行安装程序以在现有的 IBM Systems Director 系统上安装 Service and Support Manager。安装之后还需要重新启动 IBM Systems Director，但是不需要重新引导 OS。

完成安装之后，使用 Update Manager 确保得到 IBM Systems Director 和 Service and Support Manager 的最新版本。现在，可以从 IBM Systems Director 欢迎页面访问 Service and Support Manager。单击标题以启动 Getting Started Wizard（见图 1）。

向导收集一些信息，比如当在系统上探测到硬件问题时 IBM 应该联系您公司中的哪个人，替换部件需要运输到的物理位置，以及 Service and Support Manager 如何通过 Internet 连接 IBM。向导还允许指定 IBM ID，让所有者可以在 IBM Electronic Service 网站上查看 Service and Support Manager 监视的系统的相关信息。
