Service and Support Manager 还监视系统清单信息（硬件、软件和系统配置）的更改，并使用 Electronic Service Agent 把这些数据安全地传输给 IBM，供 IBM 技术支持人员使用。另外，得到 IBM Systems Director 管理授权的人可以通过 IBM Electronic Services 网站代表您的系统访问发送给 IBM 的清单数据。这种授权通过一个 IBM ID 实现，此 IBM ID 被允许访问 Electronic Service Agent 发送给 IBM 的清单数据。

支持的系统

IBM Systems Director 支持多种硬件平台和操作系统，而 Service and Support Manager 支持其中一部分。要想安装 Service and Support Manager 插件，必须在支持的平台上安装 IBM Systems Director 服务器。当前支持以下平台：

在 32 位或 64 位版本的 System x、Power Systems 或 System z 服务器上运行的 Redhat Enterprise Linux v4 和 v5

在 32 位或 64 位版本的 System x、Power Systems 或 System z 服务器上运行的 SUSE Enterprise Linux Server v9 和 v10

在 32 位或 64 位版本的 System x 系统上运行的 Microsoft Windows

Power Systems 服务器上的 AIX 5.3 和 6.1

如果在所选的访客操作系统上支持 IBM Systems Director，那么就在 VMWare ESX Server 上支持 Service and Support Manager。

安装之后，Service and Support Manager 就可以开始监视支持的端点平台，包括：

在 System x 系统上运行的 Redhat Enterprise Linux v4 和 v5
